Primary Expertise
Dr. McGarvey has academic and commercial experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics and software development. He is interested in genomic and proteomic analysis, biological databases and data visualization. Dr. McGarvey currently works on large proteomics data sets and helps manage the NIAID Biodefense Proteomics Resource. In addition, he is a participant in the caBIG VCDE (Vocabulary and Common Data Elements) workspace and has led several caBIG adopter projects.
